"100 Anything" Fundraising Workshop

Learn to use the “100 Anything” model to create your next fundraiser—for example:

  • 100 Wave Challenge
  • 100 Holes of Golf
  • 100 Frames of Bowling
  • 100 Songs Music Festival

Tap into the creative power of existing local communities to create next-level effectiveness.

One of the top requests from our National Community priorities poll is to provide fundraising know-how.

In this brand-new workshop, Boys To Men co-founder Joe Sigurdson will share a treasure trove of fundraising know-how from his experience helping to grow our flagship San Diego center from it’s grassroots beginnings into the largest center in the US.

This 2-hour virtual workshop will explore:

  • Peer-to-peer fundraising campaign design, using the “100 Anything” framework.
  • The power of team brainstorming.
  • The impact of leveraging existing communities.
  • Using the power of local personalities to amplify your reach.
  • Building media partners in TV, Radio, and Print.
  • Commonly available resources.

If you are looking for inspiration to create a local event, you don’t want to miss this!

NOTE: Though this session will be recorded, it will not be available until the launch of the Boys To Men University (online learning) website.

So we encourage you to attend the session LIVE, bring your notepad, and lean into this powerful session.

About the Instructor

In 1996, the Boys to Men Mentoring Network was founded by Herb Sigurdson (1927-1997), Joe Sigurdson and Craig McClain in La Mesa, California. Before Herb’s passing, he was a former Executive Director of Father Flanagan’s Boys Town and dedicated his life to building a better world.

Joe and Craig worked diligently to assemble a team of committed men and created a mentoring program that was meant to support the fatherless teenage boys in their community. They created a curriculum that incorporates holistic, intergenerational, and asset-based mentoring practices and encourages community involvement, intensive self-reflection, positive critical thinking habits, and self-accountability.

The curriculum is being replicated in various communities to empower young men around the world (United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa) that are autonomously governed and managed.

In August 2009, the first in-school group community was established in the San Diego public school system. This site-based group mentoring model has been a resounding success with school administrators, parents, mentors and, most importantly, the boys.

Joe Sigurdson currently serves as Chief Success Officer for Boys To Men in San Diego, and also serves on the Board of Directors for Boys To Men USA.
